Review the input
Choose the VAT column, delimiter and your requester number. Inspect normalization, duplicates and rows needing format review before saving anything.

Confirm the job
Sign in, review the server quote and confirm the normalized list. One-time packs fund completed answers; an authority fault leaves the credit untouched.

Export and recover
Download spreadsheet-safe CSV, exact original cells in JSON, and a printable HTML record. Return with the same account during the seven-day job access window.
WHEN THE ANSWER ISN’T AN ANSWER
Unavailable is a result to resolve.
Not a number to reject.
VIES can return an authority outage or concurrency error with HTTP 200. The export records that as unresolved, retains its error code and keeps it separate from a completed negative answer.
A consultation reference appears only when the authority returns one. Empty references remain not_returned.

VIES already provides free official checks and a batch interface. Use them when they fit your list and workflow. The planned private pack would cover a row-preserving job, completed-answer accounting, and export and recovery. It is unavailable while source-use, seller and native/live/payment acceptance remain unverified. It does not sell exclusive access to VAT data.
Up to 1,000 source rows and 250 unique EU/XI identifiers per admitted job; CSV up to 256 KiB, 64 columns and 16,384 characters per cell, subject to the expanded-record limit. Checks run one at a time while the workspace is open, or resume when you return. Upstream availability affects completion; no fixed turnaround is promised.

A few useful distinctions.
Does this prove a business is legitimate or a supply is tax-exempt?
No. It records the authority’s VAT answer for your own customer verification. It is not tax advice, an exemption decision, official certification or a public company registry.
Are duplicates charged twice?
No. Identical normalized identifiers share one lookup in a job. Every original row remains in place and duplicate rows point to that lookup.
What happens when VIES cannot answer?
The row stays unresolved. No completed-answer credit is consumed. Permitted transient failures have bounded retries; blocked or malformed responses require review.
Can my assistant use the result?
The JSON export is machine-readable and preserves original cells and row mapping. A user signs in, approves the job and handles payment consent. This release does not offer an unattended agent-payment or public bearer API.
